Profile
Lucy
Thomson first developed her skills Au pairing in America
looking after 3 young children aged 13 months, two and
six years of age respectively. Upon returning to the
UK, Lucy embarked upon a degree in Acting at the
Birmingham School of Speech and Drama which further
helped her to hone skills in presentation, communication
and musical performance as well as acquiring and
developing new expertise in breathing, posture,
Alexander technique, Feldenkrais method and sensory /
spatial awareness.
Graduating successfully in 2002, Lucy decided to follow
a career path that didn’t chase the lights of Broadway
and stardom but instead allowed her to pursue an inner
calling to help, campaign and assist (both voluntarily
and professionally) those less advantaged than others.
This involved intense work on emotional, physical and
even financial levels working with two core child groups
including disadvantaged children and those with special
needs. It was during this time that Lucy secured the
opportunity to become the Child Trust Fund
coordinator working with intermediaries and
parents/babies to raise awareness about this Government
initiative that helps families to develop future
security for their new born children.
