Vicky's Profile
Qualifications
Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities ( RNLD )
Experience
Vicky is a registered nurse in learning disabilities (RNLD).
She first realised that a career in a caring profession
was her calling many years ago after spending time
volunteering for a charity called Contact A Family.
Vicky was involved in helping out at a play scheme which
the charity ran during the summer for children with
disabilities and their families.
After completing A-Levels Vicky spent some time working
with the elderly before attending university to study
nursing. During her studies Vicky had the opportunity to
experience a range of care settings which included a
nursery and a special education school. She also worked
for a time in a respite home which provided nursing care
to children with learning disabilities and associated
health problems.
Since qualifying Vicky has mainly worked with adults
with learning disabilities and health problems, but has
always longed to return to working with children.
Vicky became a mum last year to her son, Dylan, and
discovered Baby Sensory classes run by Steph Harrison in
Wirral. They provided a fantastic bonding experience for
her and Dylan. Vicky has always been impressed by how
well he responded to the variety of activities and loved
watching him develop throughout each term.
Vicky is now delighted to have the opportunity to run
her own baby sensory classes in Herefordshire and is
really excited about getting started! |
