Sharon’s Profile
The most valuable experience I can draw is from the time
I spent with my son Harvey, in his first year. I have
learnt a lot along the way! My son was very challenging
at times due to having a milk intolerance and colic at a
very early age. I have done a number of things with
Harvey to try to settle, bond and form a routine with
him. I am a qualified massage therapist and started
doing massage with him at an early age, this not only
helped with his colic at times, but it has also helped
with the bonding process. Through the work I have done
in massage I have also seen firsthand the benefits it
can bring i.e reducing stress and anxiety and can help
with the bonding process between babies and
parents. Harvey is also at his calmest when there are
things going on around him, so music (especially the
Baby Sensory, Say ‘ hello’ song!!) and visual
stimulation have been very important in helping to keep
him entertained. My experience with my son has meant I
have been able to see first hand the benefits of
introducing sensory experiences!
