Early Years First Aid
Experience
Helen started her career as a therapist in 1995
after the birth of her two children in 1989 and
1992. She specialised in treating pregnant and
postnatal women, working alongside midwives and
attending several births. Although she enjoys
working as a therapist she is totally fascinated
by babies and their development.
In 1999 Helen qualified as an Infant Massage
Instructor, teaching parents how to massage
their babies. She developed the massage classes
over the years to include stretching,
reflexology and movement.
As the massage classes are only four weeks long
she was often left with Mums who would like to
have continued as they enjoyed them so much.
She found that most other classes only took
babies from 6 months of age while her babies
were often still only 3 months old. She felt
three months was a long time to wait while you
are at home with a young baby to entertain. She
decided to try and fill the gap by introducing
some music and movement classes. While
researching this idea she discovered the Baby
Sensory website and was intrigued by what they
offered to parents and young babies.
After visiting a couple of classes she was
hooked. Helen says I feel Baby Sensory provides
a unique opportunity for parents to meet other
parents, bond with and learn about how amazing
their babies are, how they learn and react to
their environment and how to entertain them at
home, often using the simplest of household
items.
Baby Sensory will give me the opportunity to
work with parents and babies throughout the
whole of that important first year.
